HEPA filter is a highly efficient particulate filter for air. HEPA filters can filter out at least 99.97% of airborne particles that are 0.3 micrometers (µm) in diameter. Particles of this size are the most difficult to filter, particles larger or smaller are filtered out to an even greater degree.
